Addendum: Just so you know, our cat had been to the vets when we discovered the cut, he was given a shot and we were told to keep the wound open, apparently so that it heals inside out.
It wasn’t random cat surgery or anything. I wouldn’t risk that as the volume of cats in my house out numbers the humans two to one. You think we’d survive the night if they got it into there heads we were bad to them?!
