Mars: A Water World? Evidence Mounts, But Scientists Remain Tight-Lipped
I’m betting that next week we have the ‘Water found on Mars’ announcement. I’m also betting they announce life has been found; which will be announced at either at the same conference or a short time after.
I grew up reading classic science fiction, the hard sci-fi of Asimov and so on. I suspect it was this grounding that has never led me to think that life wouldn’t eventually be discovered.
How many galaxies, systems, suns, planets? Billions. The maths all point to us finding life, although we are in a backwater galaxy, quite a way from others. It’s all just a matter of time.
They may not want to kill us like a step-challenged Dr Who villan.
Or bed us, like a green skinned maiden going after youthful, yet portly, Kirk.
And the odds of it involving two white mice and the number 42 are astronomical.
Brine, or single celled, I think we have a big announcment coming.

Depends if sentient ETs are like humans - If so they may very well attack us.
Star Trek has a point when it talks about the maturity of humanity, as a species we are crap. I would hope by the time we are a star faring race we will have a broader horizon of thought, if not we deserve to be zapped.
Werd.

When we eventually do become a star faring species I would have hoped we’d already be more stable and courteous as a species. If not then we should be zapped before we infected other areas of the universe. Yo, yo, ‘sup.
