Stopping Movable Type SPAM

March 8th, 2004 · No Comments

I’ve found three SPAM messages in my old comments, all from the utter scum-who-should-die 64.159.65.78 address. So I did a quick check and found the anti movable type SPAM project over at mt-blacklist.

This project has some drawbacks in the implementation, some legitimate entries could be marked as SPAM. Over all though it gets a huge thumbs up and is most welcome.

Installing it is a snap, just remember to create the directory /extlib/jayallen/ and set all files, uploaded in ASCII mode to 755.
