Blogger Data Move

June 27th, 2004 · No Comments

I’ve had a blog since June 2001, but I wrote about three things in it. I started again in September 2003; and this time something stuck and I’ve been posting pretty regularly since then.

Back in the day this was done via Blogger [www.blogger.com]. It was limiting and I was pretty frustrated by the whole thing. I ditched Blogger for the percieved freedom of Movable Type, which worked out lots better for me and the whole blog thing took off as far as I was concerned.

Then came the move to the Open Source Wordpress which brings us to now. I logged back into blogger for the first time in months today, the site had been pulled down as it hadn’t been updated in so long but the text was all there.

No easy way to export it though, so I have done a cut and paste job and started adding my old entries into WP, this adds another four months of enteries to CR. It has to be said though they are not worth reading, I didn’t want to lose them though as some of them were bad times worth recalling - so here they are; saved in WP. The old dire stuff is marked with [Blogger] in the title. I’d avoid them if I were you.
