Picked up a cheap copy of Billy Hatcher for the Gamecube, it’s a pretty unknown game from 2003 by the Sonic team of Sega.
It’s got a good pedagree then, as long as you ignore the last two Sonic Games. Hatcher turns out to be throwaway fluff, but pretty good fluff. I’ve not played such a good 3D platformer for ages, since Mario Sunshine in fact.
Billy is a kid who, with the aid of a super chicken suit, must save Morning Land. A chicken world in which the evil crows have captured the chicken elders. To do this, free the elders using eggs and grown animals that provide the power of the elements; fire, water, wind and lightening.
Bonkers and typically Japanese. If you like 3D platformers, get this. Beats the hell out of rubbish like Jak and Daxter.
