Last night was my first Tai Chi lesson. What surprised me is the range of people that turned up, from the meat-heads forged of solid muscle to old women knitted together from varicose veins. Normally the only time you get those in the same room is when the women’s purses are getting snatched.
It was pretty good, it is by far and away the most complex martial art I’ve ever done - also the most spiritual. My past forays into martial arts include Judo, Karate and Kickboxing. While Tai Chi is by no means going to get me as physically fit as the latter two of those it will massively improve general health. And that is the point.
Mrs JD manages to grow ever larger as the baby now has zero room inside her, under two weeks before she gets induced … when she gives birth I’m having a three week holiday from work and I can’t help but look forward to that nearly as much as the birth ;)
