OK, I’d better explain. I had an auto linker - if I write Wikipedia it links to that site using a predefined PHP file - that was installed and did nothing.
So I left auto linking for a while, but while googling I came across http://www.sitemakers.be/wp-plugins/textlinker.html, it’s short and simple code, does the job to perfection. See the below examples:
