Go have fun. Remember, Windows is popular, but popular doesn’t mean good. Look at reality TV.

Robert, they can’t eat you! - My rules for survival
I don’t agree with it all but it is interesting to go through; especially as one of the things under consideration right now is opening a business…
Edit - Sorry the title and link were messed up, now repaired.

Little Britain Meets the Simpsons

January 23rd, 2005 · No Comments

Matt Groening made some nice comments about the series ‘Little Britian.’ A lot of sites are reporting this as Little Britain characters will be in the Simpsons. I know the Simpsons are creativly dead but has it really reached this level of desperation.
“I want one of them.”
“A blog? But you don’t like blogs. You’re always [...]

iPod Shuffle - The Shortage

January 23rd, 2005 · 3 Comments

I can back up this on personal anicdote. Engadget is running a story about how the Shuffle has sold out everywhere. This is across the UK and USA, and Apple fulfills USA orders before any international ones so it looks like we are in for a long wait here in the UK.
Last Friday I was [...]

Delicious RSS Plugin - The Most Linked to Sites

January 22nd, 2005 · No Comments

Added the hack/plugin from http://chrismetcalf.net/wiki/index.php/DeliciousPlugin
Not one for the faint of heart as you also require http://magpierss.sourceforge.net/ to be installed.
What this has, eventually, given me is a continually changing list of what large volumes of blogs are linking to. It’s nice as I get to see things that would otherwise bypass me.

AutoLinker Plugin Test

January 22nd, 2005 · No Comments

Don’t mind me … just doing some tests.
OK, I’d better explain. I had an auto linker - if I write Wikipedia it links to that site using a predefined PHP file - that was installed and did nothing.
So I left auto linking for a while, but while googling I came across http://www.sitemakers.be/wp-plugins/textlinker.html, it’s short and [...]

Aqua Firefox

January 22nd, 2005 · No Comments

Want the widgets in Firefox to be Aqua? Items such as buttons and checkboxes and so on.
It makes very little difference TBH, but it does add that bit of polish to FireFox on OSX, from http://homepage.mac.com/travellers/software/
You can even go the whole hog and apply a Safari Theme to Firefox - though I didn’t go that [...]
