Some of this list is good, some of it is based on popularity rather than experience. AVG for example, while this is a free antivirus tool it isn’t very good at cleaning out a virus. Avast! is much better at this, and that is also free. Use Avast!.
Despite this I found some useful snippits off this list, worth a look.
