Two-Finger-Scrolling with pre-2005 PowerBooks and iBooks
This is one of the benefits of the Darwin back end to OS X, people can dive in, root about and come up with mushrooms.
The mushroom in this case is a change to the trackpad driver in PowerBooks and iBooks that enables two finger scrolling.
Your mushroom can act just like [...]

Howto fight Trackback and Pingback SPAM
February 10th, 2005 · No Comments
This is a new form of SPAM that has been increasing across all blogs just recently. As I’m having a technical day and making a few changes I thought I’d learn more about it and stop it from happening on CR again - I’ve had about 30-40 trackback SPAMs so far.
Over at http://mtdewvirus.com there are [...]

RSS Ressurection
February 10th, 2005 · 2 Comments
I couldn’t fix the old RSS system so I have implimented a new system that is faster and more flexible.
Bill Rawlinson’s RSS implimentor is based on Chris Metcalf’s, which I was previously using. It’s a neat piece of work, no need for the slower magpie RSS that Chris‘ RSS plugin required.

February 10th, 2005 · No Comments
The Del.icio.us feed stopped working overnight, I have no clue why as I hadn’t changed the site or added another plugin. I’ve removed it for now.

Apple is already working with IBM and Sony; Sony President Kunitake Ando has said they are working with Apple on hardware (See Januarys Keynote [...]

Server … Melting
February 7th, 2005 · 1 Comment
It has been seven days since I posted the ‘The Top 100 OSX Applications’ article and it has had nearly 5000 direct hits. Those are users going direct to the article, not accessed through CreationRobot.com main page.
That’s amazing. To put that number into perspective, the next nearest entry has only 312 direct hits:

The Sinister Shuffle Shortage - The Plot Revealed!
February 4th, 2005 · No Comments
Part Duex.
I’ve come up with a theory regarding the Apple Shuffle shortage. No it isn’t a ploy for PR, nor is it Apple’s continuing inablity to plan for demand. It is in fact all a sinister plot worthy of Dick Dasterdly.
Apple produced so few Shuffle’s so that the wait time would annoy people so much [...]
