I’ve spent hours today sorting out my music for my iPod. This was required for a few reasons. I needed to sync the PC and the Macintosh’s music files so that I have some clue to what music is where. I’ve also lost a lot of music due to a failing disk in my PC, which has now been removed.
What a nightmare, trying to set everything up so that all the artists have the same capitalisation, that the songs are in the right genres and so on. It’s taken ages.
I’ve added in smartlists for the genres, anyone got better suggestions for lists? Doubt it but you never know. I need to re-rip the lost music, which I’m not looking forward to, and add in album artwork for the tracks I have. Aside from that I’m good to go.
If you like audiobooks take a look at this thread on ipodlounge, http://forums.ipodlounge.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33491, it has a guide for how to convert your MP3′s into the audiobook friendly AAC files.
