To stop receiving junk mail through your letterbox register with the following UK government controlled body:

http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/

To stop receiving telephone marketing calls through your letterbox register with the following UK government controlled body:

http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/

The nice thing is that four weeks after registering if you receive either junk mail or marketing phone calls then you can contact them and they have to chase up the report and stop it for you. It runs out after twelve months though, which is why I’m re-registering today.
