I liked this, the third in the ongoing series, although I thought it was weaker than the previous novel, the Artic Incident. The central plot engine is weak, Butler isn’t so tough and Atremis not so bright after all. It feels like Eoin Colfer was struggling to come up with an idea after Artemis had recovered his parents in Book one and two.
If you liked to previous stories you will like this, consider it Artemis Fowl Lite. It is required reading for the much better book four …
