Blogs High, RSS Low

August 25th, 2005 · No Comments

The top 50 blogs on the net account for one fifth of all internet traffic. Gnerk. Surprising until you think that Fark and Slashdot are technically blogs - and the latter introduced the world to the server melting slashdot-effect.

RSS is, despite the hype, underwhelming:

A Nielsen/Netratings’ survey of 1,000 regular blog readers found 66 per cent do not understand RSS and have never even heard of the technology. Twenty three per cent claimed they understood RSS but did not use it.
