Today I’m mucking about with the site a little. I’m going to be adding some new plugins and deleting the deadwood from the back end. This shouldn’t really be done in live but still, it’s not like I’ve ever done anything professionally here on CR. The first new plugin of the day is:
Del.icio.us, Digg, technorati and Slashdot buttons http://elamb.blogharbor.com/blog/_archives/2005/6/16/946671.html
I’ve butchered the HTML from here: http://www.davidbreyer.com/2005/06/18/putting-a-delicious-digg-technorati-and-slashdot-button-into-your-blog/
making it much shorter and less arcane, plus I added Spurl and Furl. I didn’t want the images linked either.
I’m going to put together a plugin page, which is just a list of the plugins I’m currently using. Handy for those people that go ‘I wanna, I wanna.’ if they see something they want here.
The second plugin of the day was wp-cache-2 mnm.uib.es/gallir/wp-cache-2/ - caches the php generated page, so that next time it is requested it is pulled from the cache rather than the database. It should make things much faster and reduce my outgoing bandwidth total. Yesterday saw 5000+ readers and some 60MB served.
