Rewritten the .htaccess file, removed a lot of cruft from the site and a couple of other background tweaks.

As svelt as a gazelle I tell you. I only broke things a few times. Goes to show, you should never experiment on a live site — but as that is the only option on CR I have to ignore that rule.

Hopefully that autumn cleanout will ride CR through my time away.

I’m presuming that I’m going to have internet access while in Canada, though their are no promises. So updates may stop for days, but then I’ll blitz the site when I find a free net cafe in Vancouver as no doubt I’ll still be writing up what’s happening.

You can follow the text here and the pictures will be on Flickr here. I might make a couple more updates on CR today but don’t expect much until Saturday night or even Sunday morning GMT. That is assuming the in hotel wireless network exists and is working, otherwise it is the net cafe route.

Now them I’m off to tidy the house and get ready to fly for 9.5 hours with a one year old. Joy.
