Go take a look at www.apple.com.
It shows a picture of Rosa Parks, icon of the civil rights movement, who passed away yesterday at age 92. The photo on the Apple home page shows Parks riding a Montgomery bus in 1956 after the Supreme Court ruling.
Apple has rejigged one of its old adverts to come up with this tribute, it isn’t something new, only the text on the photo is changed, oh and the logo has been changed from the Apple colour to the white sillouette.
Is this a timely tribute? Or Apple jumping on a bandwagon?

My view I’ve kept out of the way. I think it is a bit of both. It’s a tribute, more than any other company has done, that aligns with the image Apple wants to project. Apple gets to be nice and follows through with a revamp of an old advert, and a nice page giving some backround on Rosa Parks [www.apple.com/hotnews/articles/2005/10/rosaparks/]. So it isn’t distasteful in my view, though it is somewhat crass and contrary.
