Rest day — sort of. We went shopping in some areas we haven’t been around before, namely Gas Town. Big mistake. Want to know where the bums hang out in Vancouver? Top end of Water Street in Gas Town. Not an area to feel safe in as loads of bums, druggies and general down and outs hang around in one area.

It was like we walked into the World Bum Championships 2005. Winner was either the bearded ginger mess sprawled over the sidewalk or some woman who was yelling about loonies (a dollar coin I believe). We scooted out of there pretty fast.

Called into Chapters again and bought another book then came back to the hotel, shattered. In two days we do the six hour drive to Chase, way past Kamloops:
