A run down of F1 in 2005:
It was a momentous season in several ways; the sport was renewed by the arrival of the youngest ever world champion, by the return to form of two great teams, McLaren and Renault and by the sale of 40% of the teams on the grid, all to well funded backers.
Although the season saw one of the most stupid and self-destructive events in F1 history at Indianapolis, I nevertheless came away from 2005 feeling that F1 is in the best shape it has been in for years.
