Every night, before she goes to sleep, I have time with my daughter for about half an hour. It’s grown into a tradition during the 15 months she has been around. Usually of course I’m on the PowerBook, and if she shows interest we play on it. Loading up Elmo’s World or Teletubbies websites, that have games and songs; and no adverts.
It hasn’t escaped her notice that it’s the PowerBook that is presenting these wonderful worlds to her. Yesterday she hugged it twice, patted it a few times and, although I had to stop her, tried to feed it toast. Luckily the greasy keys cleaned up fine and I don’t think much bread got in.
One thing is for sure, she’s going to grow up being very familiar with technology. As long as that technology eats toast.
