The UKs Open University opens its courseware

It’s great that all the course material will be opened up, if only getting the qualification cost less too.

The Open University revolutionised assumptions about who could learn, and how they could learn.

Now we’re doing it again.

The Open Content Initiative (OCI) will make educational resources freely available on the Internet, with state of the art learning support and collaboration tools to connect students and educators. — OU

Britain’s Open University has just announced an ambitious program spend £5.65 million putting its courseware on the Internet under a Creative Commons license — it joins MIT and many other institutions in adding its material to the common pool of university curriculum that can be freely used, edited, shared, and repurposed. — BoingBoing
