Pepsi and Coke have both been whipping there proverbial slaves, spanking the company monkeys, desperatly trying to rush coffee versions of there canned soft drinks to market.

Pepsi has won that race here in the UK, Pepsi Max (coffee) Cino adverts have been all over the TV, while I was out today, walking the polar bear in the first snow we’ve had since moving to the coast, I bought a six pack. What’s it like? Funny you should ask.

It tastes like they rushed it to market if you ask me. You can definatly taste the coffee, overriding the cola, at first it tastes OK. Cola, with coffee and vanilla, it tastes a little like sweet coffee with milk. The aftertaste is the killer though.

Imagine coming home after a night on the town, just before you enter your house you notice road kill near your front door. A badger sprawed out, lifeless and old. You shake your head, putting the badger out of your mind you step inside and go to sleep. In the morning you wake up to discover your mouth full of matted badger fur, paniced you run to your front door and look outside. A dry spot where the badger had been. With mounting horror you realise you’ve been eating roadkill badger in your sleep.

That’s what the Pepsi Max Cino aftertaste is like. Roadkill in your mouth.

My wife labelled the drink ‘Scroffee’. Damnit, we’ve another 5 badgers in the fridge.

Coke Blak had better be nicer, the design is a lot more appealing anyway …
