Amigurumi – Soft Japanese Plushies

Have you heard of Amigurumi? (phonetic:ameegirroohmee)

Amigurumi (Japanese: knitted or crocheted doll) is a Japanese art of knitting small stuffed animals for home decoration. The usual form is cats (amineko), but it could also be dogs, bears, rabbits, even snakes and elephants.

Thank you Wikipedia for the definition. A whole sub culture exists in the craft universe dedicated to these usually croucheted stuffed toys. As you’d expect, being Japanese, they are mind shockingly, war stoppingly, ahh inducingly cute.

Expect a whole post on these soon. When I get back. I’m away for a few days so I have a number of posts set on timer to keep things ticking over. Don’t tell anyone, it feels like cheating.
