I have six draft posts queued up waiting for either finishing touches, a write up or the full blown ‘expand this into something slightly interesting’ treatment.
The six are: Definitive List of Habits of Effective Bloggers, Securly Erasing your Hard Disk, My Perfect Bookmark Solution, Canvas for Wordpress, Apple Mac OS X Security Tips, Dead iPod
I hate having drafts hanging about, it’s a job that’s not yet completed, it nags softly at the back of my mind whenever I’m on WordPress’ Write page.
They are drafts for a reason though, they need work and time. Time is my biggest enemy, that and the elephant on my shoulder that is sloath, but ignore him. I try to.
I need to tackle some of these draft posts before the number gets too high, link posts are so much easier than content posts, but content is King.
Six is by far the largest number of drafts I’ve had hanging around, can you beat that number and if you can what the hell are you doing about it?
Update: My backlog reached 14 articles but I’ve decided this is a good thing, not a bad thing. I’m going to post an article on that point later - it is more efficient to queue interesting things you find as you browse and move on. Building up a queue. Once you’ve finished your list of daily sites you can then go through the queue without distraction and decide what is still interesting and what to get rid of.
