I have three computers in my life. A Ménage À Toi of computer use. My beloved PowerBook which is used for everything but gaming, a PC gaming rig with more fans than power (It’s over three years old now) and my works Dell PC. Across all three I use FireFox. Syncing bookmarks has been done using manual methods, shareware and FTP. All of which have drawbacks, especially in a work environment.
Google’s software releases have never tempted me. Picasa? Got iPhoto already thanks. Google toolbar? Are you crazy, get lost. Add to this mix the inability of Google to release Mac software (gTalk) or to release it months after Windows software (Google Earth), you can see why I’m not interested in this lot.
Until now. Here’s a snappy addon to Firefox that is really useful, Google Browser Sync.
Google Browser Sync for Firefox is an extension that continuously synchronizes your browser settings – including bookmarks, history, persistent cookies, and saved passwords – across your computers. It also allows you to restore open tabs and windows across different machines and browser sessions.
