Not much in the way of posting right now. I’m in the process of getting dressed but I thought I’d do a quick post and explain the fun of the last couple of days.
We’ve found somewhere to rent in Vancouver for three months while we get jobs and house hunt. It’s really expensive but fully furnished, owned by a family with young children. So we feel pretty safe about staying there with our daughter. It also has wireless Internet built in so the disruption to my online existance will be smaller than I initially thought.
On Thursday night I got an email from ISC2 saying Congratulations, you have passed your CISSP. Say what now? That was unexpected as I’d had so little time to do the required reading; damn pleasent surprise though. I now have to approved by a current CISSP as someone worthy to hold the certificate and I’m all set. Luckily the guy putting my forward is one of America’s largest (In terms of cases involving IT) Juris Doctors, so all should be fine.
On Friday I handed my notice in at work, so I’ve five working weeks left now. Yipe. That went better than expected but it was a bit fun and a bit scary. Quitting a job when you don’t have another to go to is always a risk and money’s going to be insanely tight. We’ve three weeks left in this house before we need to move out and virtually nothing is done toward that. This is going to be a big rush in a short space of time. Expect much disruption to the normal posting and lots of moving talk. I guess we’ll get some eBay auctions up soon to get rid of some stuff.

It´s all good here, a bit hectic though! Apple are being a bit crap- still no computer, on the phone they say my order is stuck in holland, by email they say they are understocked. It doesn´t even show up in my account as it was ordered through the english store using the spanish system to deliver over here.

Stuck in Holland eh, it could be some time, it’ll be in a coffee shop. Bitch at them, they may offer you discounts on a slow delivery. They have leeway in that.
