How to dress like a Mac user, or Steve Jobs

September 8th, 2006 · 2 Comments

With its tongue so firmly inserted into its cheek that it is threating to snake out of an ear canal lifeclever.com brings us the full outfit of the annoying ‘Mac Guy’. OK I like the outfit but not the smugness that oozes off this guy.

Seriously, if you are a Mac owner you don’t need to be smug and all ‘I own the best PC going‘; the reason is you do own the best PC going. Smugness on top of that is wasted effort!

If the Mac guy outfit doesn’t do it for you then why not dress like his-Steveness?

* 199 T-Shirt Silk St Croix
* 138 Levi 501s
* 130 New Balance 991s

I’m with Steve, except for that T-Shirt, 199?! Too rich for me.

    I don’t get it. How is the Mac guy annoying? He’s friendly and helpful, and not the least patronizing or smug; A slacker, really. The actor is pretty good in everything else I’ve seen him in. The line most hardcore PC users seem to find most annoying is the “Macs don’t get viruses” line which is, of course, true. Suck it up, losers.

    I guess he’s just not as cool as the Dell Dude, huh? (I realise you may have been going for irony since your site seems to be Mac-centric, so I’ll shut up now.)

    I find the Mac guy more annoying than the supposed Windows guy. I will never buy another Windows box as long as Apple keeps pumping out quality.

    Seriously, you like smug Apple guy? Well we need to bring more Windows users over to Macs, calling them losers really isn’t going to help. Dell dude I’ve never heard of, I guess that was USA specific.

    Getting a virus on a Mac running OS X is damned near impossible, but it can happen. You would have to download and run the virus, ignoring the warning messages your Mac throws up on the screen. You have to be pretty determined to get a virus to do that. Worms, the most dangerous problem for Windows, don’t really work on OS X as they need rights to spread; again asking for the users permission.

    OS X is not virus proof but it is hardened against them to a level that Windows can only dream about. Be nice to Windows users, they suffer enough as it is.
