Ouch

September 12th, 2006 · 4 Comments

I’ve spent the last three days moving house. It’s 95% complete now, we just have the minimum left. Like the TV and the Wireless Internet.

So for three days all I have done is pack, carry boxes, drive vans, carry boxes, drive vans, pack and repeat. If I had to do this for a living I’d actually get seriously fit. As it is I’m not particularly fit; though I’m not bad either.

The relentless work and over exhaustion has taken its toll. I’m physically hobbling around like a 75 year old guy with serious joint pains. I’ve had sweat dripping off me over the last few days. I feeling I’ve not had since martial arts way back in the dawn of prehistory. It doesn’t help that I’ve been doing this through a cold.

Anyway, the point is we’re just about moved out now. In two days time I will lose home internet access for a while. Boo. I will still have access from work but expect blank days while my net connection is dead.

Going enforced cold turkey on your net life can only be bad.

Ah the joys of dealing with a coporation. Pretty bad eh. Press for more off or free software. Bummer it has gone so badly, they seem to have managed to fk everything up so far.

Language is hardly something that is a big unknown.

    Pfff.

Well at the minute I won’t be having a mac, unless they do something drastic!

It arrived and despite me actually ringing after sales when my order was confirmed and actually getting the guy to repeat about 3 times that it WILL ship with an English keyboard, it turns up with a Spanishj keyboard.

So the computer that was promised to be with me within a week (I stated it was important due to my course) arrives after a month (apple did offer me 100 quid after numerous emails for the late arrival) and then it comes without a part I specifically requested and even rang to confirm.

All they could say to the keyboard issue was that they could arrange a return and replace on it- I pointed out that I was no longer satisfied with the 100 quid and they skirted the issue.

Now, if I were in apple’s shoes, I would be offering good will gestures and sending out a technician to replace the sodding keyboard on site – can’t they see that after waiting a month I’m not really wanting to send it back for repair. That would probably make it 2 months to get the order here as it should have been after a week- oh and I would get a 100 quid knocked off!

Well the kit seems very nice, and I would like to keep it. So I’m gonna ring on Monday and see if they are prepared to make amends, but at the minute it looks like I’m gonna send it back because their customer service is appalling, it’s not just that they can’t arrange to deliver an order to another country and have it go smoothly, mainly that when you deal with them they don’t give a f**k. Your just one small fish in an ocean of business.

Back to the factory Gates for me!

Nice, about time though. Repost after you pick it up.

Woohoo – my mac arrived today. Off to collect it shortly.

All better be in order cos it’s taken long enough.
