Do you recall the fantastically painted images on the planes of world war 2 and later, here’s a website promoting saving the images for posterity. I love them, I think this style of artwork is timeless, it’s one of my favourites. Save the Girls is a worthwhile site.

It has its drawbacks of course, it seems to be focusing on American planes only, you might just be aware that it wasn’t just American planes involved in WW2. In fact they turned up late. In too few a numbers; certainly at first. In fact if they had been any later the world would have fallen to the German, Italian and Japanese alliance. Somebody buy America a watch; England and Russia could only hold off for so long you know.
Amusingly idiotic ranting aside, it’s a great site with some wonderful pictures on it.

I’ll do a search later for more images from other nations.
