From the people that made Text-link Ads comes ReviewMe; it’s a promotion tool for getting the new product news out around blogs, in fact lots of blogs very quickly. Yep it’s advertising done in the new world of Web 2.0. This is a paid review of ReviewMe.
Is it any good, can you make money from ReviewMe without selling your integrity and your blogs interest level? I’m not exactly sure as yet but the only two advertisers that I’ve had success with are Google’s Adsense and Text-link Ads. Both have paid me well and on time, so I trust ReviewMe to pay. You also have to write 200 words which isn’t a lot and doesn’t exactly take a lot of time.
As for the soul tarnishing, well we all sell something to be able to eat even if it’s time. What makes me able to use ReviewMe is you don’t have to give whatever you review a positive review. No lies. You can say what you want which, as far as I’m concerned, means my soul is only slightly ’swizz-cheesed’ with the demon of advertising. Not completely shredded.
The amount you are paid depends on the reach of your blog, which is fair enough but the way your blog is valued is inadequate. It’s from sites like Technorati and Alexia, the former is widely known to be highly inaccurate. I know from personal experience that Technorati misses a lot of CR posts and incoming links.
I’m hoping that ReviewMe will take on a wide array of tools to judge the reach of the bloggers using it but that can come with time. If you want another income stream then team Text-link Ads with ReviewMe; just review with honesty and all is well.
