I love F1 but I know it can be so dull at times. Rivalries help to spice things up no end, the best of which was the Senna / Prost rivalry. I recall that so strongly, the utter disregard for all the sports rules, the only thing of import was beating each other. Those were the days.

Formula One stands at a crossroads (so to speak). Through the modern history of the sport, though one team or driver may dominate the pack, the path to victory is rarely so clear. Rivalries often run rampant in the highly competitive high-speed world and with Michael Schumacher out of the picture, Formula One fans are doubtlessly salivating at the prospect of another mano e mano battle for the 2007 championship.
This season, a great rivalry may be born from amidst the unpredictable. Perhaps we’ll see a great 1-2 struggle like those of Formula One seasons past as personified by rivalries such as the following.
