Duke Nukem Forever (DNF) is a first-person shooter video game being developed by 3D Realms, and is the next game in the Duke Nukem series. It is infamous for its protracted development schedule, which began in April 1997. The game has been hindered by poor management, several internal rewrites, as well as engine technology restarts.
