Wired has a nice guide on how to burn a DVD on your Mac. It pretty much relies on www.mactheripper.org/ which I’ve mentioned here a few times before. It strips off restrictions like region encoding and other dumb stuff that companies like to force on us for no good reason.
To then copy back to disk you need a Roxio product like Popcorn or Toast; these are the best and easiest solutions on the Mac.
