Urgent Cat Business (UCB)

Here’s a new phrase that you’ll all soon be using. No, really.

Urgent cat business (abbv. UCB): (desc.) The urgent business of doing nothing.

This one came about by us sitting on the stairs in the house and the cat wanting to get past us, he made such a fuss of getting past that we thought he’d seen something or needed something, he yowled, tried to go round us, tried to climb over us, clearly the need to get past was high. But no, when we did finally let him through on his important super-urgent-cannot-wait business he went and sat down.

Since that time the phrase is often used to describe what my cat’s doing, what people in the house are doing and, of course, co-workers.

Urgent Cat Business.
